is the extent of my sock knitting. The month absolutely evaporated in two days. It was just October first, right? I am determined to turn the
hell heel of the Bayerische sock (on the right) today. I will consider that quite an accomplishment.
This sock has been kicking my ass all month. The last repeat before the heel flap was knit and ripped thrice. The fourth time, I didn't lose track of things and was able finally to start the heel flap. It has been frustrating but I'm digging the end result. When you take a step back from all that overworked yarn, it's really quite a thing of beauty.
I was hoping to have a pair of Bayerische socks by now, and another pair on the needles. But I'm not giving up on them...yet. If I can just get this one out of the way, I can start on the others. But I can't knit them on BART. Just takes too much concentration. So that's why I started the other pair. But then, I haven't been riding BART as much as I thought I would during October. So I haven't gotten very far on that pair of socks, either.
I did set out to try something new in Socktober, which is exactly what I did, so I wouldn't call this a failure. I'm going to hunker down with a little of Vicki's Stick-to-it-iveness and see if I can get done what I want to get done by the end of November.
I'll let you know.
